So it’s been about a year since Microsoft has released its previous device Microsoft Surface Pro 3 and the next device aka Microsoft Surface 3 is already ready for release. Microsoft Surface 3 is a hybrid of laptop and tablet, and is the 3rd device of the Surface league. It is also presumed to be a favorite of the customer due to the attractive price range.

What is the Microsoft Surface 3?

Microsoft Surface 3 is probably the best Microsoft Surface tablet cum laptop yet. As per the news, it’s going to be the lightest one yet with a stylus and is going to be equipped with all the Windows apps. Another huge plus point will be the versatility of the device as a tablet as well as a laptop. Microsoft Surface 3 is a huge leap from its predecessor when it comes to the working facility. It is going to run on the full version of Windows 8.1. Although the keyboard is going to cost you a bit more, it is going to have a varied number of covers which are going to give a new feel every time.

Price and Release Date of Microsoft Surface 3

Due to be launched in the 5th of May, 2015, the Microsoft Surface 3 is priced at $499 with an additional $130 to be paid for the keyboard.

Specifications of Microsoft Surface 3

Although the price is quite attractive, what plays main role when it comes to devices is the technical aspects. The device has no new surprises when it comes to Microsoft Surface 3; it follows its predecessor the Microsoft Surface Pro 3. However, it has a pretty cool designing and comes with a one year warranty scheme.

Design

Microsoft Surface 3 is going to have slanting edges with a matte- grey magnesium finishing. The backside has a shiny Microsoft logo and a stand which is capable of slanting the screen in three different positions according to the convenience of the user. The tab cum laptop is going to be 10.52 inch x 7.36 inch x 0.34 inches and is going to weigh around 1.37 pounds without the keyboard and 1.95 pounds with it.

Display

Microsoft Surface 3 is going to be equipped with a 10.8 inch screen with powerful resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels. The image quality is super sharp and the clarity is undefined.

Sound and Audio

Although most tablets offer a dull sound system, Microsoft Surface 3 has sound system powerful enough to fill the whole room with music and is equally good for both soft and hard rock music.

Heat

Unlike the previous tablets provided by Microsoft, the Microsoft Surface 3 has a completely fan less designing but this doesn’t make the device heated up unnecessarily.

Hardware

Microsoft Surface 3 is going to be a power packed device with a 1.6-GHz Intel Atom x7-Z8700 CPU and 4 GB RAM, which is going to be upgradable to another 4 GB. Although the starting models are going to have a RAM of only 2 GB. The eMMC type storage drive is going to have a capacity of 128 GB.

Software

Microsoft Surface 3 is going to be enabled with WiFi, Bluetooth and has a mini display along with USB 3.0 port. The Microsoft Surface 3 has two cameras. The front camera is of 3.5 Mega Pixels and the primary camera is of 8 Mega Pixels and the picture quality is superior. It runs on Microsoft Windows version 8.1. It is also equipped with a card reader of capacity 128 GB.

Keyboard and Pen

The Microsoft Surface 3 cannot be completely experienced without the keyboard. Although it is being charged extra still it is worth the price. The Type Covered keyboard has strong and tactile keys which is snappy at the same time. The 3 x 1.45 inch touch pad is very touch sensitive. The Stylus which comes for an additional $ 50 is pretty handy when it comes to pressing the small icons and gives a pen on paper experience while writing on screen.
